New VC Fund Playbook + Model Downloads @ Streamlined.Fund

As many of you know, I started working at a bank in 2007 before jumping to the PE/VC investing world in 2010. Nights and weekend advising flipped to full-time CFO consulting in 2018 via Airstream Alpha before Going Deep @ Chapter One in 2021.

After meeting thousands of PE/VC fund managers and investing in hundreds, I was able to build my own VC fund playbooks, fund budgets, and fund models that aggregated best practices, organization, and insights.

Recently, I partnered with my old friend Eddie Duszlak to take all those learnings and streamline them into one place, Streamlined.fund. We’d appreciate if you check it out and share with someone who may benefit from it! You’ll find all of our free models / budgets there, as well as some souped-up versions and our new VC Fund Playbook.

Why do playbooks, models, and budgets matter? We wrote about this previously in #31 VC Fund Model & Budget & #27 The Playbook. The VC Fund Playbook is your operating system for building an institutional-quality back office. It helps you operate efficiently and attract capital from investors. Any fund is a business and the right playbook is required to ensure success over the long-term!

We couldn’t find one out there, so we built this one ourselves, based on the following:

  • > 30 yrs. of experience investing in hedge, private equity, and venture capital funds

  • > 10 yrs. of running our own funds and/or directly advising founders of such funds

  • > 10,000 interactions with fund managers

  • > 10,000 hours of trials and tribulations

Thanks for reading and sharing. Feedback is always welcome. In the meantime, enjoy!

That’s all for today folks! Thanks for your support and spreading the word! Share this on Twitter or LinkedIn to help grow “the crew!”
